I've been researching the family tree for some time now and we all seem to be claiming the same pedigree - de Merke's. Where ours differs is the son of Adelolf de Merke we have Otbert not Jacob (first time I've seen this and would like to authenticate it). We loose track after Robert de Merke 1375 at Gt. Dunmow, Essex (where I lived before Australia) but can trace my direct ancestors to John Mayris of Bourne, Cambs. b. 1542 and possibly William Marres of Castor b. 1475. Would appreciate any contact that could be of assistance.
